When you receive a HiHello card from someone, you can visit their card, view their contact details, and save their information with or without a HiHello account of your own. This guide will explore what it's like to receive a HiHello card and describe how to save the card's contact details on various devices.
Overview
After you receive a HiHello card, there are multiple actions you can take:
- View and interact with the card - you can visit the linked websites and social media accounts, view attached PDFs, watch embedded videos, and more.
- OPTIONAL: You will have the opportunity to provide your contact details to the card owner.
- Save the card's contact information directly on your device
- OPTIONAL: You will be offered the chance to download the HiHello app so that you can create your own digital business card. Tap "Get the app" to sign up or tap the X to close the window and go back to the digital business card.
How to Receive a HiHello Card
When someone shares their HiHello card with you, you will receive a link that takes you directly and securely to their HiHello digital business card. There are multiple ways to receive the link to view a digital business card, including by scanning a QR code, receiving a text, receiving an email, a link on social media, a linked email signature,, and more. Please note: if you have the HiHello app, the card will be displayed in your HiHello app. If you do not have the HiHello app, the link will open in your default web browser.
Receiving a HiHello Card via QR Code
Every HiHello card has a QR code that can take you directly to view it. Simply open your phone's camera app or QR code scanner app, scan the code, and visit the link.
HiHello QR codes can be shared directly from the HiHello app, or they can be added to email signatures, virtual backgrounds, widgets, wallet apps, flyers, brochures, posters, or anywhere else you can add an image.
Receiving a HiHello Card via Text
When someone texts their HiHello card to you, you will receive a message containing the link to their card. How the link is displayed, will depend on your device and its security settings. You may see a preview of their card or you may just see a link. Either way, you can click on or copy and paste the link into your browser to view the card.
Receiving a HiHello Card via Email
When a HiHello card is emailed to you from our app, you will receive an email that includes a preview of the card. To view the card, you can either tap the preview or tap the button labeled "View in HiHello" just below it.
How to Save Contact Details
After you receive a HiHello card, you can save your new contact's information in order to easily follow up later. We have provided multiple ways to save contact details from a HiHello digital business card.
Saving Contact Details in Your HiHello Account
If you are also a HiHello user, you can view the card you received in the HiHello app and the button below the card will say Connect. Tapping the Connect button allows you to become live contacts using the HiHello Self-Healing Address Book.
After you connect in HiHello, if you would like to sync your HiHello contacts with another address book, you can view options here:
Saving Contact Details Directly on Your iOS Device
In order to save a contact directly to your iOS device, you will need to completely finish the steps required by your phone's software. If you do not complete these steps, you will be able to view your new contact, but their information will not be saved on your phone. Below, we'll walk through each required step in HiHello and iOS so that you can be sure your new contact's details will be saved correctly.
After receiving a HiHello card, tap Save Contact that floats at the bottom of the screen:
On the next screen, tap Save Contact to proceed to the next step. If you would like to share your name, email, and/or phone number with the HiHello cardholder, you can enter that information on this form. This will not sign you up for HiHello or add you to any mailing lists, you details will only be shared with the cardholder. If you don't wish to provide your contact details, you can simply leave these fields blank:
If you have a newer iOS device, you can open the contact file via an App Clip to save it quickly to your contacts app. Simply tap Open when you are prompted to open the app clip:
You will then be taken to your new contact. You can make any edits or add information to the contact. Tap Done in the top right when you are finished to save your new contact on your phone:
If you have an older iOS device, then tapping Save Contact will take you out of HiHello and your phone's operating system will take over. On the next screen, scroll down and tap Create New Contact:
You can then edit the information on the contact, as needed. After you have made any edits or adjustments, click Done to finish saving the contact.
Saving Contact Details Directly on Your Android Device
The exact process of saving a new contact can sometimes vary between Android devices, however, the basic steps required will be the same. After you choose to save a HiHello contact, you will need to complete the steps required by your phone's software in order to save your new contact's information on your phone. If you do not complete these steps, you will be able to view your new contact, but their contact details will not be saved on your phone. Below, we'll walk through each required step to save a HiHello contact to a typical Android phone so that you can be sure your new contact's details will be saved correctly.
After receiving a HiHello card, tap Save Contact at the bottom of the card:

Tap Download to download the VCF contact file and then tap Open to open it and view the contact. This will take you out of HiHello and you'll complete the rest of the steps within your phone's operating system.
While viewing the new contact, tap Import:
