Setting up Microsoft single sign-on (SSO) for your organization will allow your users to create and log into their HiHello accounts using their company login credentials. HiHello’s Standard Microsoft SSO authentication is available for all HiHello Business subscribers through OAuth. HiHello also has an Advanced Microsoft SSO authentication through SAML, which allows for more customization and comes at an additional cost. The instructions below explain how to set up Microsoft SSO via OAuth. If you are interested in setting up Microsoft SSO via SAML, please contact your Customer Success Manager for more details.
We recommend setting up Microsoft SSO early in the HiHello Business onboarding process. Any users who created a HiHello account using their company email and password before Microsoft SSO was enabled, will not be able to use Microsoft SSO to access their HiHello account. For all such users, please provide their Microsoft Object IDs to your customer success manager so HiHello can adjust their accounts. |
To unlock Microsoft SSO for your users, an IT admin with Microsoft Entra ID admin privileges will need to grant your company access to use Microsoft SSO to log into HiHello.
To begin:
- Create a card within HiHello for your IT admin and send them an invite to claim the card.
- Inside the claim card email they receive from HiHello, there will be a button labeled “Claim My Card.” Clicking this button will prompt them to log into a HiHello account and they should select the option to “Sign in with Microsoft":
- They will then use their company admin Microsoft SSO credentials to login.
- Once that is complete, it’s possible they will encounter a message from Microsoft informing them that they need approval to use their company login credentials to login to HiHello. To grant approval, click on the button in the dialog window that says “Have an admin account? Sign in with that account”:
- Once they sign in, another dialog will appear requesting permissions. After reading through and consenting to the requested permissions, the IT admin can check the box that says “Consent on behalf of your organization” and then click “Accept” to continue:
- After clicking “Accept,” a unique HiHello App will be installed within your Microsoft Entra ID configuration, allowing all your organization's users to log in and create their HiHello accounts using the “Sign in with Microsoft” option.
After you have enabled SSO, you are now ready to create a card template, add more administrators to your account, and create cards for your team. When you are ready to share HiHello with your broader team, you are welcome to share this page of resources to help them get started with their new HiHello card:
