After you have created a template in your HiHello Business or HiHello Enterprise account, you can track its views, saves, and contacts using the built-in HiHello analytics page. If you would like to be able to track additional information about your template, you can add a Google Analytics tracking number.
Please note, before you can set up tracking, you’ll need to know the Tracking ID if you’re using Universal Analytics, or your Measurement ID if you’re using Google Analytics 4 - both of which can be found in the Admin Settings of your Google Analytics account.
Add Google Analytics Tracking to Your Template
To add your Google Analytics tracking number to your template:
- Log into the HiHello web app on your computer
- Select the admin profile rather than your personal profile
- Go to your Templates page by clicking the single-card icon in the left-hand panel:
- Select the template you want to track with Google Analytics
- Go to the Settings tab and then click + Add New in the Google Analytics section:
- Enter your tracking Tracking ID or your Measurement ID:
- If you would like to add multiple tracking numbers, you can click + Add New
- After you have finished adding your Tracking ID(s) and/or Measurement ID(s) click Save in the lower right to confirm and add your Google Analytics tracking to your template
After you add a Google Analytics Tracking ID to your template, it will automatically be added to every card associated with the template. The template Tracking ID cannot be removed from an individual card, either by admins or team members.
It's possible to add multiple Tracking IDs to cards. You and your team members can add additional Tracking IDs to a template-issued card and it will not affect the tracking you added to the template. You can add tracking to an individual card by following these steps:
View Your Template's Tracking Data
Once you’ve added your Tracking ID or Measurement ID to your template, log in to your Google Analytics account. Make sure you’re on the correct property and click Realtime Overview. It may take a few minutes to collect, but data for your template will appear.
You can test to make sure the tracking code is working by sharing a card that is linked to this template with a colleague and watching as the data updates in your Google Analytics account.
