You can share your HiHello card by letting new contacts scan your QR code - even if they don't have the HiHello app. In this article, we will cover multiple areas:
Sharing Your QR Code on Mobile
To share your QR code on mobile:
- Log in on Mobile
- Go to your Cards page
- Either:
- Tap the card you want to send and then tap Share at the bottom of your screen
OR - Swipe up on the card you want to send
- Tap the card you want to send and then tap Share at the bottom of your screen
- Request your new contact to open their camera app or QR code reader
- When they scan your QR code, they will be taken to your HiHello card.
If the person scanning your QR code does not have the HiHello app, the card will open in their web browser. If they do have the HiHello app, the card will try to open in the app. If they have the app but do not have an account, they can either create an account, remove the app, or use an incognito window to view your card in their browser.
When someone scans your QR code, we are not able to capture their information, so they will not automatically be added as a contact in your HiHello account. If you would like to automatically capture your new contact's information, you can share your card via text or share your card via email instead.
Sharing Your QR Code on a Computer
You can also access your QR code on your computer, and a new contact could scan your QR code directly from your computer screen.
- Log into the HiHello web app at http://hihello.me/app
- Go to your Cards page
- Click the card you want to send
- Your QR code will be displayed beside your card preview:
- Instruct your new contact to open their camera app or QR code reader and scan the QR code
- When they scan the QR code in the center panel, they will be taken to your HiHello card.
If the person scanning your QR code does not have the HiHello app, the card will open in their web browser. If they do have the HiHello app, the card will try to open in the app. If they have the app but do not have an account, they can either create an account, remove the app, or use an incognito window in order to see your card in their browser.
