Add a Virtual Background on Microsoft Teams

After you have created a HiHello virtual background, you can add it to Microsoft Teams for your video conferences.

To add a virtual background while using Microsoft Teams:

• Log into the Microsoft Teams web app.
• Start a video call.
• Before joining a meeting, click Background filters beneath the video window.
• Under Background settings, click Add new:

• Upload your HiHello virtual background.

Microsoft Teams uses a mirror effect on their virtual backgrounds, so your background will look reversed to you. You can rest assured that the background will not look reversed to anyone else on the call.

Please note that some new versions of Microsoft Teams that come built-in on Windows 11 do not allow users to upload their own virtual background images. If you notice this in your account, you could try switching to the built-in version of Microsoft Teams designed for work or school, or downloading the Microsoft Teams app from the web.
